We are what we eat

“We are what we eat”

We constantly hear these words being used in books and the media to promote healthy diets. I think a more accurate phrase is:

“We are what we absorb”

The reason for this is because of the clients I see in my practice who show signs of type B malnutrition, despite appearing to have a balanced diet.

There are many reasons for this nutritional starvation. Some are physical, such as digestive disorders; and others through the quality of food on offer and environmental pollution.

Modern farming methods together with food processing can cause physical problems, depleting many of the essential nutrients that our body processes require. This can result in some of the symptoms we see in our society today, such as:

• Tiredness and fatigue
• Weight problems
• IBS/Crohns
• Headaches and migraines
• Depression
• Allergies
• Infertility
• Skin problems
• Eczema & Psoriasis
• Insomnia
• Urinary tract infections
• High blood pressure
• Osteoporosis

And many more …

In a fast-paced world it is important that we take responsibility for our health and wellbeing.
